The catalogue, by family

Wire rope, rigging, chain, fiber rope, tools and elevator parts for importers and distributors. Each page carries the sizes and the load limits, so the order can be written straight from it.

How we write the catalogue

Tagged for the load

A sling carries a tag with its working load limit, its length and its lot number. The catalogue is written the same way.

Size before adjective

Diameter in millimetres and inches, chain size, thread, jaw opening. What you measure on the bench.

Grade and construction

A 6x36 WS rope with steel core behaves differently from a 6x19 with fibre core. The page says which one you are buying.

Working load, with its design factor

Breaking load and working load limit are different numbers. We publish the one the standard uses, and we name the standard.

The certificate of the lot

We ask the mill for the test certificate of the lot being shipped, and send it with the documents.

A buying desk in Shanghai, a company registered in Hong Kong

We buy from the mills and forges that make this hardware in mainland China, and ship it to buyers who would rather deal with one supplier than six.

The buying desk sits in Shanghai, close to the plants of Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang. The company is incorporated in Hong Kong, and that is where the contract and the invoice are issued.

About the company

Samples from several families tagged side by side on the buying desk

What changes when the hardware comes from one desk

One purchase order across six families

Rope from one mill, shackles from a forge, tools from a third plant. One invoice, one packing list, one container.

The size table before the quotation

You compare diameters and load limits on the page, mark what you need and send it. The quotation answers that list.

Inspection before the container closes

Measurements, finish, marking and count, with photographs of the lot, before the goods leave the plant.

Documents that clear customs

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, with the tariff code agreed before production starts.

Private label when the volume justifies it

Your mark on the tag, the label and the box, with artwork approved from a physical sample.

Replacement parts stay available

Re-order against the same reference and the second shipment matches the first.

Your brand on the tag

Most of the catalogue can leave the plant with your own marking: stamped on the body, printed on the sling label, your artwork on the carton. Minimums depend on the item and we confirm them before the sample.

Marking and labelling of a lot before packing

Four checks before the goods are yours

  1. 01

    Plant selection

We buy each family from a plant that makes it. We check the licence, the line and the test equipment.

  2. 02

    Approved sample

A new reference starts with a physical sample, measured and photographed. The lot is judged against it.

  3. 03

    In-line check

Dimensions, finish and marking are checked while the lot is still on the line, when a deviation can still be fixed.

  4. 04

    Pre-shipment check

Count against the packing list, packing condition, photographs, and the mill certificate collected before the container is sealed.

Questions a first order usually asks

Anything these answers do not cover goes to info@summitsh.com

What is the minimum order?

Per reference, not per order: a coil of 20 mm rope and a box of shackles do not compare. The quotation states the minimum for each line, and a mixed container usually reaches it across families.

Do you publish prices?

No. Steel, polypropylene and freight move month to month. Send the list and the quotation comes back with the price valid that week.

Can I mix families in one container?

That is the usual way this catalogue ships. Rope and chain at the bottom for weight, tools and elevator parts on top, and the packing list written family by family.

What certificate comes with the goods?

The mill test certificate of the lot being shipped, with the values measured on that production. We collect it before the container is sealed.

How long does an order take?

It depends on stock at the plant and on volume. The quotation states the lead time for each line before you commit.

Which port do you ship from?

Shanghai by default, Ningbo when the sailing suits the destination better. We quote FOB, CFR or CIF, and we can work with the freight forwarder you already use.

From your list to the port

  1. 01

    You send the list

Reference, size and quantity. The list button on every product page builds it for you.

  2. 02

    We quote against it

Unit price by size, minimum per reference, Incoterm and lead time, line by line.

  3. 03

Sample or drawing, if the line is new

A sample or a dimensioned drawing settles what is being bought before production.

  4. 04

    Production and inspection

The lot is produced, checked in line and checked again before the container is sealed.

  5. 05

    Consolidation and shipment

Everything meets in one warehouse, loads into one container and sails from Shanghai or Ningbo.

  6. 06

    Documents

Invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and the mill test certificates of the lot.

Minimums, Incoterms and payment

Send the list and we price it

Reference, size, quantity and destination port. A quotation comes back with the unit price, the minimum per line, the Incoterm and the lead time.
